Trailer Site Rules

General Information

  • Limit of two (2) adults per site, OR, one family (Dad, Mom, and dependant unmarried children, under the age of 18).
  • One small pup tent (3 people or less) is permitted per site.  These must be taken down and put away when not in use.
  • No person will be permitted to stay in trailer without the owner present.
  • No Trespassing on your neighbor’s trailer site unless consent is given. (Example: shortcuts between and in front of trailer sites).
  • All children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian after 11pm.
  • WATER MUST NOT BE WASTED.
  • Trailer site must be kept neat and tidy at all times.  No clotheslines on site.
  • No firearms or fireworks are permitted in the park.
  • Visitors and Overnight / weekly trailer site rentals – check out time is 11:00am
  • Campsites are not to be used as permanent residence.  Vacationing campers only.
  • Trailer owners are responsible for maintaining their site.  All trailer sites must be kept clean and tidy at all times.  Trailer site grass to be cut by occupant or fee will be charged for grass cutting by management. Mower & gas are provided by park. Trailer owners are responsible for grass cutting from May to October.
  • No tree trimming without permission.
  • Any pre-approved changes to the landscape of a site will become the property of management when the License Of Occupation is terminated. (Example: walls, paved or gravel roads, trees, fences, shrubs, etc.)
  • All construction must go through management.  Manufactured structures are to be purchased through management. (Example: sun rooms)
  • If you wish to wash your car or trailer, or, water lawn at site, please inquire at office.
  • Only RV type air conditioners permitted.  (No window air conditioners).  Air Conditioners must be turned off when away from the campsite for an extended period.
  • Only one tool shed per trailer site (Max. 8’ X 10’).
  • No private sale of trailers.  All trailers must be sold through management. Trailers older then 20 years cannot be sold on site or brought seasonally into the resort.
  • No subletting. Lot fees cannot be included with sale of trailer.

Alcohol and Drugs

  • Provincial Laws require that all alcoholic beverages must be consumed at trailer site.  (No walking from site to site.)
  • Illegal drug use of any type will not be tolerated and will result in termination of park use and/or police intervention.

Campfires

  • Please be responsible with campfires or privileges will be revoked.
  • Fires and their control are the responsibility of the camper.
  • It is the responsibility of the camper to be aware of and follow the rules of a fire ban.
  • Campfires must be extinguished by 1:00 AM.  (Please respect your neighbor when sitting around the campfire at night.)

Children & Visitors

  • Campers are responsible for the actions and safety of their children and guests.
  • All children under the age of 18 must be with a parent or under parental supervision after 11pm.
  • Children must be supervised at all times when near the beach, playground, and water as these areas are unsupervised.
  • All Visitors must register at office upon arrival. If your visitor fails to register (this is your responsibility) there will be an additional charge of $2.00 per person added to visitor rates. 
  • Visitor charge is $3.00 per day or $5.00 per night, PER PERSON.  Maximum number of visitors is 6 unless prearranged with management.
  • Visitors are required to leave by 11pm or must be registered as overnight guests. (Seasonal Sites Only – No Overnight visitors for Weekly / Overnight site rentals.)  Check out time for overnight visitors is 11:00am.

Etiquette

  • No loud music at any time.
  • Quiet time is 11:00pm to 8:00am.
  • Please respect your neighbor’s privacy. 
  • Any aggressive action toward another person or any violation of any federal, provincial or municipal laws by a camper or his/her guests will result in the immediate termination of the License of Occupation and/or weekly/overnight agreement.

Garbage & Recycling

  • Garbage is to be placed in green garbage bags and sealed.  Garbage in shopping bags is not acceptable. No large items to be put in or near bins, for example: tires, lawn chairs, batteries.
  • Disposal of large items of garbage such as fridges, bicycles, beds etc. are your responsibility and expense.  They are not to be left near the garbage bin.
  • Do not place leaves, brush, grass or hedge clippings in garbage bins.   See management as to where to dispose or compost them.
  • Please follow the City of Peterborough’s Blue Box Program sheet when recycling. Information copies are available in the office. Please put all recyclables in the bins provided.

Pets

  • Pets are welcome as long as they are kept on a leash (including cats).
  • Excessive barking will not be tolerated. Pets must not be left alone at trailer site.
  • No pets permitted on beach, in recreation hall, or on other campsites.
  • Dogs have a designated swimming area.  Please ask at office. 
  • Please clean up after your pet. 
  • Visitors are not permitted to bring overnight pets.

Toilets and Drains

  • Our park uses septic systems.  Please do not dispose of anything down the drains other then single ply white toilet paper. 
  • When cleaning use environmentally approved chemicals.

Swimming & Fishing

  • All children under 18 years of age must be supervised near the beach, playground and water.  These areas are unsupervised. 
  • Swimming is at an assumed risk of the individual or their guardians in the case of children.  Lancaster Cottage and Trailer Resort, and or its agents, assume no liability for any accidents, however caused, in the resort area or in the water. 
  • No swimming in dock area and no diving off docks.  (Water is too shallow)
  • No fishing, skiing or boats in beach area. 
  • No fishing off reserved docks.  There are two designated fishing docks.

Lost, Stolen or Damaged Property

  • As per the License of Occupation, management cannot be responsible for property lost, stolen or damaged.
  • Parents or guardians shall be responsible for the safety and any damage, however caused, by children or visitors. 
  • Parents will be financially responsible for any damage, however cause by children or visitors.

Vehicles

  • Park speed limit of 10 km/hr will be strictly enforced.  Please watch for children playing.
  • Only one car permitted at trailer site. Additional cars will be charged $1.50 per day.  (Visitors must park in designated parking lot).
  • No parking on roads, other sites, or anywhere that is not indicated as a parking space.
  • No mini-bikes or motorcycles to be driven around park property.  Vacationing motorcycles are permitted on an in/out basis.
  • No vehicle repairs in park.
  • All boats, boat trailers, utility trailers, etc. must be parked in the designated area.

Washrooms, showers and Laundromat

  • Please keep washrooms, showers, and laundry room neat and tidy.
  • Small children must be accompanied by an adult when in these areas.
  • Please advise your children that these buildings are not play areas.
  • The use of private washers and dryers is not permitted.
  • Please show consideration for others who will use the facilities after you by leaving these areas neat and clean.

 

Additional Information

  • Washrooms and laundry room are located at the top of the office driveway. 
  • Garbage and recycling bins are located at the top of the park by the second entrance.
  • Safe drinking water. Tested daily.
  • Horseshoes are located on the shed by the boat launch.  Please play responsibly.
  • Movie rentals available in office for $3.00 per week.

These rules are for your protection and holiday enjoyment.

Failure to comply with these rules will result in termination of park use, with no refund.
